About

Why it exists

Apartment hunting in Chicago means opening thirty building websites and keeping a spreadsheet. This site does the opening and the spreadsheet for you. You say what you need, and it shows the buildings that fit, with the reasons and the catches spelled out.

It was built by one person born and raised in Chicago who got tired of doing this by hand.

Where the data comes from

Prices, floor plans, and availability are read from each building's own website and checked regularly. Building pages say when prices were last checked, and say so when a price could not be verified. When something could not be confirmed, the site says so instead of guessing.

Listings change. Always confirm the details with the building before you sign anything.

What it is not

Windy Apartments is not a brokerage, a landlord, or a leasing agent. It does not represent you or the building, and it does not take a fee from either side.
